They don't phone you offering you work, you know. You have to check their website. It's fastest fingers on there, so if you're not fast you won't get any jobs.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

No need to be cheeky - I do realise you have to check and I do regularly but no work in this area0 -
Also, since they send a tenner in the post, if you don't receive it how do you prove this?
Just a thought, don't mean to be a spoilsport...Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
Mystery shopping sessions are taken at certain times of the year across the whole country. All the stores (e.g: all Topshops) will be done on the same weekend - presumably to make it fairer for the stores involved.
I've done this before. I'd say it is more for fun than profit as you do not get reimbursed for any expenses other than the £10 cash payment which does arrive really quickly. Obviously, you actually have to buy an item costing at least £10, although you can return this. You also need to consider extra costs like petrol, parking charges etc.
I really enjoy doing this, although the opportunities come up quite rarely. It isn't a scam but it isn't a way to make money either, bearing in mind the time involved and the extra costs.0 -
Signed up and was accepted. When no stores available for whole of UK showed up on website I rang the no. given. A Lady told me that there would be no availability until late 2005, early 2006. But no need to keep checking website an e-mail will be sent to those accepted when there is availability, so that's good.0

They certainly have vacancies throughout the UK (including some very far-flung places!). Once you've applied and been accepted (took about two weeks in my case - no idea if that is typical, though) you just log on and choose your own assignments, either searching geographically or by client .
Hmm...You do know that when you signed up for Gapbuster, you agreed to keep clients' information confidential? Another thing to note: if you work for any of these companies, you have to inform the tax office that you're now self employed on a part time basis. Failure to do so within 3 months of starting work will result in you being fined £100 and possibly done for tax evasion. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

No 'possibly' about it! I know two shoppers from my own forum who were fined very heavily for tax evasion for not declaring their MS work! They always catch up with you eventually!0 -

Thank you - I'm really grateful. I felt awful when I realised just how awry genuinely good intentions can go!0
