Poll: Fss V Ppp

When we finally get equal pay in this country in law giving those who pefer thei own personal pension to a final salary scheme of their employers a fair employers contribution to the personal pension which would you choose?

I suspect most members of this forum are so blinkered by the so called "gaurentee" they would opt for the FSS regardless. lets see eh?

What do you mean by "fair" ?

If the option was PP with the same employers' contribution, I'd go for it.But in most cases the employer's contribution into a PP type pension will be well under half what it puts into a final salary scheme.

And that's before you even think about the guarantees.

People are not stupid, they know that f/s schemes are being canned because the replacement is much better for the company and much worse for them.
    Trying to keep it simple...;)
  • By Fair I Mean A Percentage Of Ones Salary That Is Reviewed By A Government Actuary Say Annually So As It Reflects That Contribution Needed Under The Assumptions Of Said Actuary To Provide The Fss . Thus In Lean Investment Times A Bigger Payment And In Good Times Lower Or Even Non.

and is that likely to happen anytime soon now?
  • who knows:confused:, Pensions were deemed a part of pay years ago by the European courts but everyone here but me seems to think it's "free money" maybe when that stupid attitude changes they'll vote for a government that gives us all true equality.
