Argos - Steamer chair with cushion

Argos - Steamer chair with cushion
Hopefully the weather will improve to get the benefit of this. Search fort cat number 650/3594 buy one for £66.49 or two for £79.99.

Actually comes up as £76.49 when you add 2 to basket. £38.25 seems a good price for two hardwood steamer chairs with cushions. Can anyone comment on their quality?

Offer ends 17 June 2008

Apologies, I copied my original post from another forum and didn't realise I had copied that forums affiliate link. I'll edit and remove, when I find out how.

    Hi

I bought these a few years ago. They were best described as ok. Would I buy them again - no.

My other half ( not overweight!! ) actually fell through one of them !! The cushions were quite good.

Of course, the suppliers and build quality may have changed and this was about 3 years ago.

    Cheers

Just had a look, they are similar but not the exact ones.

If it's the same one that I purchased from Argos, then I gotta agree!

The one I bought was absolute crap, which was also probably about three years ago.

Made with really cheap locking mechanism in the arms (you lift the arms so that you can recline).

I the end one side would lock OK and the other just slipped futher back making the steamer lop-sided. Ended up my partner who is approx 8 stone only used it about three times (was £49.99 without cushion when I bought it).

Tried taking it back after a couple of months (albeit without the receipt) and Argos flatly refused to entertain me in any way (I know I should've kept the receipt :().

Needles to say I have boycotted them ever since.
