With the nights getting colder I am tempted to treat myself to a new duvet as I only have a summer one (4 or 5 tog duck feather & down I think?)
Was looking at some silk ones - eek the price!! Does anyone have one? Are they worth the £££? Know where to get one cheap(er)?

hi, haven't got one of these duvets, so can't say what they are like. have a look at http:/alotoforganics-theuksearchengine. then try .. so organic.they sell silk duvets...not cheap though.0

Mulberry Silk were exhibiting at the Ideal Home Show earlier this year and I see they have a stand booked for the Autumn show as well. Prices aren't cheap - I think I was quoted around £100 for a single, but their products did look to be good quality - silk from worms fed on mulberry bushes are said to be the finest quality.
It's much cheaper to buy abroad, but there may be customs to pay. China is the biggest producer of silk and many of the silk duvets available in the UK will have been imported from China. if you're lucky enough to be travelling that way (!!) you can expect to pay about 20% of the UK price. Another alternative is ebay, including international sellers. Wool and silk duvets are much more popular in the U.S. and Australia than they are in the U.K. and are more widely available if not any cheaper. Occasionally, Chinese producers sell directly on ebay - keep an eye out for exquisite, splendid, luxury comfortable quilt!!0 -

I think my finger must have slipped when it saw the word 'chocolate' on the front page of alotoforganics and then suddenly there were all these chocolates on the screen and I could'nt resist!
If you like dark chocolate I can recommend the Montezumas bars including pistachio, Hazelnut & Almond (Gourmet Gorilla!), ginger, orange and chilli (yes chilli - it's different but I quite like it!) [I have ordered these direct from Montezumas before]:

Could we stick to the subject of silk duvets please? I can't afford one of those AND a load of chocolate! Plus it will melt and make stains on those silk duvet covers ...Signature removed for peace of mind0
