Who will egg lend to have just applied for a mortgage with Egg and have been turned down reason given credit check ,wanted to borrow £167000 on a house valuation £400000 ,my husband earns in excess of £110.000 per year we have no loans nor credit cards and have a perfect credit rating have never missed a payment nor been late paying ,the only loan showing is for a car loan which comes under the company car scheme for which we receive the full sum ,the daft thing is my husbands job is head of financial risk for a large financial group so has to have a clean financial record and is checked yearly so if we can not get a loan who can?

I think you are right what is annoying why do a credit check before the affordability questions as this check will now effect my once blemish free rating.0
