Hi
Can anyone recommend a good cookery books on making birthday cakes for children's parties? (you know, the ones that look really fantastic).
My twin DD's are 5 in July and I want to make them something special.
I have seen a few books but only want to buy one that will last over the years. Any suggestions?

I agree. I've got this book - I bought it in Waterstones. I think it's this one:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Birthday-Cakes-Australian-Womens-Weekly/dp/1863965513/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1211398234&sr=1-5
but I can't put my hands on it right now.
I also picked up Quick and Easy Party Cakes by Joanna Farrow & Sara Lewis:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Quick-Party-Cakes-Joanna-Farrow/dp/0600614204/ref=sr_11_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1211398337&sr=11-1
in Tesco for £4. These ones are very easy and very effective and include 'grown-up' cakes as well.some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it0 -

You're absolutely right! I'm such a book addict, I forget about the library, even though I'm there every couple of weeks. My library is great and they get the books in if they arent in stock (Had to wait a while for Martin's book, but I got there in the end)
