Saving Money on Photographer, Venue etc.

If you have made a decision on where you are going to hold your reception or if you have chosen your photographer etc. you can easily get 10-15% off the fee if you wait for the venues wedding fair(usually twice yearly). Many photographers, florists etc will go to most wedding fairs and will offer discounts on the normal rates if booked there and then.

Another tip is to enter as many competitions as you can at the fair especially photographers who usually offer a free wedding package or 6"x4" engagement photograph competition. They usually pick a good number of winners for this very prize so you get a sample of their work and hopefully book them for your own wedding.

Thanks for the advice, I've unfortunately missed our venues wedding fare as we were away on holiday so I'll need to try and negotiate extra hard this weekend when we visit to finalise. I could just pretend I was there! lol

Unfortunately it wasn't like this at the wedding fairs round here, the fairs are so busy and have so many people making bookings that the suppliers and venues don't need to offer discounts to get the business, so you don't get any reduction on price for booking on the spot

My venue doesn't hold fayres, but maybe I can find another one in the local area...
