Yes it does feel good took me a while but when i was first introduced on overpaying by accident i will add i just couldnt stop.
I say by accident as it happened like this i was on a fixed rate but saw rates tumbling and reading on in other finance articles could see rates tumble more.
So on this i went to the bank and told them do something for me or im off. Though i was told to withdrawl would cost me money, i clearly stated "yes but other places will pay me for my buisness to go their way by incentives". Ahh yes was the reply, but a fixed rate is what i took out knowing that it could come down or go up.
Yep but coming down too far i want better.
Well was told one fee must be paid this cant be waivered but i can waiver this waiver that, now your payment is this.
Nice i said but i dont need the money i am not skint if i just pay as i am where will that leave me.... Ahhh overpayments is the place and this places save you interest or time... Ohh tell me more!!!!
So infact i upped my payments but at the lower rate now i also said do not lower my payment unless i tell you to, no problem i was told. so thats my start and after a few months i started to see my balance indeed drop. This got me looking and upped my payment again over time and saw it drop and drop and drop. I wasn't addicted but i did keep a close eye on things and it just gave me encouragement. Didnt go without either had nice holidays etc. But after a while i stumbled onto Quidco and moneysaving expert all the tips and savings also went that way towards the mortgage, after all i didnt go to work for it so i saw it as a bonus, but it was earned tax fre and why not not see it in my pocket straight away was my thought. Overtime too that i worked for and i didnt need that month too went towards the mortgage. Credit card stoozing too oh yes done that but that paid towards a holiday which allowed me to carry on with my mortgage as i was going.
Sold my motorbike didnt use that too much so half towards holiday the next US or Canadian tour and half towards the mortgage little things like this has all contributed towards todays 0 mortgage balance.
So like i said in a way i stumbled on to overpayment but never stopped stumbling,
So please all who have started along this path stick to your guns its worth it it pays in the end and to one and all good luck, best wishes and moneysaving best to you all one and all.:hello: Lets all save a £ or two, lets all earn a £ or two, and lets all enjoy spending that £ or two wisely.
