Joint loan with EX partner
Options
Hi there, I'm completely new to this forum but could really use some advice.
I took out a joint loan with my ex-partner about 3 and a half years ago (the money goes out of a joint bank account). We split up 2 years ago and agreed to keep paying the loan between us as my ex was unable to get a new loan to cover his half.
I have a standing order set up to pay my share of the money into our joint bank account each month, however over the last couple of years my ex's payments into the account have been getting later and later each month and on a number of occassions I have had to prompt him to pay in the money.
We are now into May (payments go out 4th of the month) and he has only paid one months money since March, so in effect is now owing two months money. It is difficult to get hold of him as he works shifts but I have texted to prompt him on several occassions.
I guess my real question is, is there anything I can do if he continues to not pay money into our joint account? I really don't want it to turn nasty but I'm now in a position where I can't afford to keep bailing him out.
Any offers of advice would be much appreciated.
Many thanks...
