Malvern - Where can I buy bulk meat at good prices? And Veg?

Hi, we moved to Malvern a few month ago. I am slowly finding my way around it. But where can I find local meat at reasonable prices? It all seem to be very expensive, or am I looking into the wrong shops?

Also, where can I buy veg? I don't want to travel miles in the car to get a lettuce, but the local green grocer is way overpriced and most stuff is flown in!!!

Any other hint and tips are very much appriciated!

There was a farmers' market on 17th May in Malvern... the next one isn't until 21st June.

Perhaps try one of the local farm shops? I'm not sure whether Clives (Hanley Castle/Upton) has much of a range of local meats but they have a good reputation for local produce. Otherwise, perhaps try coming over Worcester way now and again. Top Barn Farm at Holt Heath has a good farm shop with some salads and seasonal fruit/veg grown on site as well as an excellent butchery counter with much meat being reared on site too. We try to stock up from their freezer as they sell the frozen meat on a 3-for-2 basis.

Roots at Rushwick perhaps has the edge on fresh fruit and veg, year-round, with added 'organic' status for their home-grown/reared produce.
