!!!!!! Arggghhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

I keep getting bank charges, just checked online and im 21p overdrawn so ill be charged £20  I bought suncream online and it took the money from my available balance but i obviously didnt calculate it right.
Just feel like its constantly one step forward 2 steps back  Already got £50 charges coming out at the end of this month and desperately trying to save for our 1st dmp payment on 1st june.
Begore anyone says yes i know its my own fault for going overdrawn.
Also going on holiday on 30th june and have nothing saved, need spending money, food money, train fare money and my son needs clothes. Its just a nightmare

Other people may say otherwise, but I have not been charged for a less than £1 mistake - and I've made a few on 3 different bank accounts :o

Hope this is true for you.
  • i agree - check your T&Cs, they may have a not charging policy for something that small, hsbc tend not to charge if i just go over a £ (though i don't any more if i can help it!)
  • Now I may get some backlash for this, but its my opinion.

I would be looking at my priorities:

If I was struggling to find a payment for something I wouldn’t be going on holiday

Now I know we all need to get away but if your clear of debts going away will be much more appealing.

My opinions are the same for people that smoke and drink as well, Take for example the Duchess in Hull, she’s got £80 to feed all the family and she says it’s a struggle – yet all of them smoke and I presume they drink too – they had sky TV and all were wearing designer sportswear……..

Priorities, you’ve either got them or you aint.

I don't think cancelling the ops holiday is the answer really - presumably it's already been paid for? Ring your bank and apologise for going OD, explain it was a tiny oversight and ask them to let you off the charges. Suggest they up your OD slightly to stop this happening again (reducing it gradually). For your sons holiday clothes, check out eBay and charity shops. Perhaps selling on eBay would get you the cash for your holiday also? x

    Hi

For your son's clothes, your clothes, stuff for the house, electrical kit etc please sign up with the local group of www.freecycle.org - like e-bay but the stuff is free.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing

The holiday is probably already paid for - possibly why the impending DMP?

Anyway, the priority is to be able to manage next month taking into account that £50 of charges to be deducted, so:

Have you done any planning for next month's meals? List every single thing in your fridge, freezer and cupboards - then see how many meals you can make from it. Post the list on the Old Style board for more help. Then shop online (no impulse buys ;)) for ONLY what you need to make those meals and nothing else.

Do you have any friends/ relatives with children a bit older than your son? Can they pass any clothes on? Or have a look for a couple of bundles on Ebay, or look in charity shops, or freecycle - as others have suggested.

    BTW I have PM'd you.
