i was happily paying off an old debt to HSBC bank until last november they passed the debt to rockwell.
today i got a very snotty phone call from someone at rockwell informing me there is £590 left to pay and can i pay this in full today. i said no then she offered it to me to pay off £300 in full and final settlement. i explained we dont have that kind of money, im on maternity leave from a part time job and what my partner earns pays for everything bar the rent which my SMP just about covers.
she then said that ill therefore have to up my monthly repayments. again i explained i am unable to do this whilst on maternit leave and she started speaking to me like i was a piece of !!!! on her shoe.
can they phone and make these kind of demands? she has flagged me to be called in 2 months even though im not due back at work until the end of august.
i was quite happy paying HSBC back via DG Solicitors previously.

Just keep paying what you can afford them. They're just trying to pressure you into paying them more than you can afford.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

cheers. they already have a statement of incomings and outgoings from when they took over the debt. and i had already explained then that once i return to work i would be happy to increase payments again.
do these people never make a note of things you tell them? There's someone in my head, but it's not me0 -
Tell them that you only wish to deal with them in writing, most DCA's use telephone calls to bully people into upping their payments. Continue paying what you are at the moment and don't budge don't skint yourself for the sake of the company you and yours is more important. You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

when i answered the phone she asked if i was gemma ***** which i confirmed then she asked for my date of birth. up to this point she hadnt even told me who they were. i asked what she wanted my DOB for and she said she was calling from rockwell and couldnt not discuss anything with me until i had gone through security.
i guess i should have refused there and then and asked them to write to me? yes? There's someone in my head, but it's not me0 -
I know you not got alot left to pay , but if I were you I would request a NOTICE OF ASSIGNMENT and a SIGNED COPY OF THE CCA ! if they don,t come up with them stop paying them !0
