Savings stamps

Not quite sure where to pop this thread, so feel free to move if it's in the wrong place.

I have never used savings stamps but am considering starting up to help with the cost of Christmas.

Can anyone tell me what stores/supermarkets offer them and what's the best to go for?

    iceland
    farmfood
    asda
    morrisons

    are some of the ones that do them.

    Asda do the plastic card where you can put on any amount where as Iceland ,farmfoods and morrisons do the saving stamps starting at £1.

    They all do similar offers where you save up x amount and they give you x amount back (its only like a couple of £££)

    Its a good idea if you shop there and if you know you wont lose the cards

    Wilkinsons also offer savings stamps-I don't think they give you any free ones but it's a handy way to put a few quid away if you shop there regularly. They are £1 each and I think the card holds about £20 worth-I think.
    Tesco do savings stamps I think.

    I currently save with the following;

    ARGOS,they have a savings card,that you cannot use until a certain date(ie;so your not tempted to dip in it),when you top up for the first time they give you £3,also everytime you add to they put you in for a draw to win £500.this is drawn every month.This is a fab way to save as you know it actually will be spent at xmas time.So far ive got £50.

    M&S,i use the normal gift card.i put on £10 per week,then i can get the kids clothes at xmas time as well as a few treats.so far ive got £50.

    Ive also found if like me there arnt too many big named shops in town that if you go to WHSmith they do loads of various gift cards for top stores and you dont have to take them to the stores itself,just top up at WHSmith.Then come xmas you can visit the stores at a big town/city and a good day out in the process.

    That's a brilliant idea! I hadn't even thought of using a normal gift card. Thanks very much. :beer:
