Hi,
Have been reading people's posts on the site for over a year but only registered today. I have had many lightbulb moments but chosen to ignore them until now. My debts are as a result of not living within my means for the last 5 years.
I have gone to some beautiful places (with money from credit cards) but now I want to enjoy travelling etc with my own money.
Myself and my OH had very good jobs but he went back to uni this year (for 2 years). It has been a positive experience for both of us as we realise that we were wasting so much money before this. So when he does work again we won't be as stupid as the last time.
In the meantime I have a part-time job (as well as my full-time job). I will be using the earnings from that to pay off my credit cards (my loan and mortgage will be paid from full-time earnings). My OH is also hoping to get a part-time job so this will also be flung at our debts.
The main reason I registered is because I want to chat with other people and also I want to see my signature decreasing. I am quite competitive (with myself) and if I have something like this it will help me to focus.
Sorry for rambling and thanks for listening. It's great to be here!

Good stuff! I must admit I do look at the MFW's forum and am green with envy. Would love to be in that position someday!
However, onwards and upwards and I need to focus on the task at hand. My first goal is to try and get rid of the CC's by Dec 2008. This would be a huge psychological boost. This does depend on OH getting some part-time work as well so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

True! Will tell him that. Ah no to be fair he is looking and has applied for some jobs so just waiting to hear back. It would be a great help though, as we could really start making some serious dents into the debt.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
