school photos

the group class photos are out now. four x £8 is heck of a lot of money for something thats going to sit in the cupboard (my daft head says get them so something to look back on! my sensible head says they dont need them so no point in paying money out on them)

what do you all do or would do...did think of nabbing someones to get copies but just had a brainwave...i can just keep the samples!!

why not see if the pictures are available from the photographer digitally. If they are maybe you could share the cost with some other parents then copy the photos and send to each other.

then, a few years down the line get it printed off.

I must confess, my son's photo cam with the word sample etched accross it, so I scanned it and photoshopped it out :o .

They are just too bloomin expensive!

I missed my daughters first set of class photos and I was gutted.

Some of my friends have posted my old class pictures from when we were little on FB and I think it's brilliant. I'd get them and put them in a scrapbook if it were me. Sorry

Don't buy them, it's a huge rip off.

I've got four children, the oldest are in year 9. I bought one set of photos once and resented the cost. Since then I've never bought any, I much prefer family photos anyway.

My DD is in year 6 (last of primary) so I have just bought the class photo so she can look back on it in years to come. Not sure why though as DH and I both have them from our schooldays and although the names of children are on there we only have vague recollections of them.

First photo at primary/secondary I do/will have. Last class photo I also have, but other than that I don't bother and I am so glad it's not only me that keels over at the cost of them!

I have twins at high school and as they are in seperate classes so we always have 2 x sets of photos. A few years ago I decided that the photos were just too expensive so now i buy a 10' x 8' of each of them for us and then photograph the picture using my digital camera. I then email or print the photos out for family. I know it's naughty but I do feel less guilty as I do purchase one photo of each of them! The cost of the photos does seem to be quite excessive.

I don't buy the class one absolute rip off !! and as my children are at the same school they have one together so this saves me money.

Also I ask grandparents to contribute and we split the photo pack !!

Don't feel pressured into buying the class photo, although Dubsey has a good idea with just buying the year 6 photo so they have something to look back on.

I'd buy one. Would hate to not buy it and then regret it later on.

Sorry but yes, I would get it, I have so much fun looking at my old classmates. Its a small price to pay for the memories. However, I am a professional photographer so somewhat biased.
