Nice reading/poem??

We're having these two:

MAYBE
Maybe we are supposed to meet the wrong people before we meet the right one, so when they finally arrive we are truly grateful for the gift we have been given.
Maybe its true that we don't know what we have lost until we lose it, but it is also true that we don't know what we're missing until it arrives.
Maybe the happiest of people don't have the best of everything, but make the best of everything that comes their way.
Maybe the best kind of love is the kind where you sit on the sofa together, not saying a word, and walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you ever had.
Maybe once in a lifetime you find someone who not only touches your heart but also your soul, someone who loves you for who you are and not what you could be.
Maybe the art of true love is not about finding the perfect person, but about seeing an imperfect person perfectly.

The key to happiness belongs to everyone on earth,
Who recognizes simple things as treasures of great worth.

The changing of the seasons, the rising of the moon,
Golden restful hours on a lazy afternoon.

Dreams the heart has woven, letting go of cares,
Reaching out and helping out, and countless answered prayers.

The loving bond of family ties, and understanding friends,
The chance to make a difference, the will to make amends.

Having someone's hand to hold, the promise each day brings.
The key to happiness is found in very simple things.

When we read through the marriage ceremony booklet it looked so short we thought we could do with a poem or two just to make it last a little longer!!

I found a short poem that I was hoping our 5 year old could learn and recite (if she wasn't too nervous!)

'From this day forward
You shall not walk alone
My heart shall be your shelter
And my arms will be your home'

Short and sweet, I thought but maybe have a longer one too.

AH, that's a sweet one. No of course I don't mind - I found it on a forum anyway.

We are having the Art of marriage

A good marriage must be created.
In the marriage the little things are the big things.
It is never being too old to hold hands.
It is remembering to say 'I love you' at least once a day.
It is never going to sleep angry.
It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives.
It is standing together and facing the world.....
It is forming a circle of love that gathers in the whole family.
It is speaking words of appreciation and demonstrating gratitude in thoughtful ways.

Love is a temporary madness; it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides.

Some lovely readings.

We are getting married in a church and have been given a list of suggested readings, not too keen on them tho. Anyone have any a little more "churchy"?? Not too sure what I mean by that lol :rotfl:
