Evening all,
I need some help please, we are having our money saving wedding which has just been booked for January, how can we theme our winter wedding without it looking like an extension of Christmas?
Thanks, Lorna

By avoiding red and green in the colour scheme... stick with white and silver... I was going to say pale blue too then... and then realised I'd just given our colour scheme for a September wedding lol...
It depends what your vision is for the day, do you see a room filled with holly and baubles or shimmery and frosty with icicles...
Do I make sense? It's late... been a long day...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Take a look at favorideas.com - lots of suggestions for winter themed ideas - including Hot Choc with Baileys and kahlua!!!
I had originally thought of the winter scenes of the lion, witch and the Wardobe with lots of snowflakes and ice - ice sculptures? anyone?

Thank you for the ideas, do you think that snowflakes is a bit Christmassy? (if that is a word!)
Like the silver and light blue idea and huge fan of hot choc so I'm sure that we could get that incorporatedThanks for the advice Martin! :money:Member no. 920 - Proud to be dealing with our debts0 -
Nah, when was the last time we had a white christmas? lol.
I would associate snowflakes more with winter than christmas...
Edit: Meant to say though, it's your vision so it depends on how you feel about things...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... Thanks Krystal - you are always answering my daft questions!
I think that I lack vision as our wedding is so different to the ones that I've been to, i.e. not big and white, other half loves the snowflake idea and is talking about incorporating them on the invitations (his job!)Thanks for the advice Martin! :money:Member no. 920 - Proud to be dealing with our debts0 -
There's no such thing as a daft question... Just a daft answerer

I've only ever been to 3 weddings, and none of them are like ours... We started off discussing what we didn't want and then worked it from there...
Our theme is butterflies, I love them, they are so delicate... unlike me... lol. There is a company that will supply butterflies in little cardboard boxes that you hand out to your guests and then release them all together for photo's etc... OH loves the idea... I'm torn between thinking it's quite sweet and thinking it's a bit tacky...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... Hi Lorne
I'm also getting married in Jan - 24th- and have just decided on the colour theme sumptuous Gold and Purple! Trying to come up with centrepiece ideas and have made a moodboard in paint with pics off the internet. I want to use candles as its winter, and also like the idea of using natural table decor ie fruit or pine cones/twigs/etc.
Have you decided on your theme yet?0
