Lush Skincare

Snuggles

Shopping in a different town today, I came across Lush, and couldn't resist buying a few facial skincare products to try, as I have heard good things about them.
I bought a cleanser called coalface, and i'm just wondering if anyone has used this stuff before as I found it incredibly difficult. I thought I would just be able to break a bit off, but it's a solid lump (like coal!!) and I broke all my nails trying to get into it. Am I missing something?!!!

I like Lush stuff but I haven't tried that one. Just googled it and it sounds like it's a soap...?

I think you use it like a block of soap rather than breaking bits off?0 -

Ah right, thanks both. I was following the instructions from the Lush website, which say you are meant to break a bit off then work it into a paste in your hand with a bit of water. Maybe that only applies to the bars that are a softer consistency.0 -
I think you do that with the more clay-like bars, like Herbalism... and the cartoon on the site mentions Angels on Bare SkinMy TV is broken!

Love Lush! Only negative thing is everytime I go in their shops I come out with a blistering headache from all the strong smells!
I love the shampoo bars...didn't think they'd work on my thick hair, but they're fantastic!
And the best bathbombs ever!;)I am not a complete idiot - some parts are missing;)0 -
I think that Lush is just too gimmicky. The smell seems to draw people in. Everything that I've ever tried from there has brought me up in a rash or given me sore skin and I'm not sensitive to anything else other than Clinique paint stripper!:smileyhea "here, hare, here" :smileyhea0

Thanks fay, I feel daft for asking the question now - it seems obvious you would use it like a soap now that it's been pointed out lol!!0 -
I love Lush!Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

It's the first time I've tried anything as there isn't a shop near me, but I had a daytrip to York and was drawn into the store! I got the coalface, some herbalism, tea trea water and enzymion to try on my problem skin (oily, congested).
Apart from the problem I had of trying to break bits off (!!), it all felt lovely on my skin, and I have stayed nice and matt since I used it, but obviously only time will tell if it makes any real difference.
I loved the store though, wanted to try a bit of everything!0
