Surprise student loan payment??

Hi,

I am not sure whether this is the right forum for this question but I am not sure where this should be asked and besides, I am sure someone will move it, if appropriate..

I filled in a self-assessment tax return in Jan' 08 and paid what was due. I did it on-line where the on-line calculator works it all out as long as you have all the info.. However, I have just received a statement from the Student Loans company who have been deducting payments from my monthly salary. However, I have noticed a recent credit into my student loan acc which matches the exact amount that I paid for my tax return in Jan.. Can anyone clarify what may have happened here?

Hello Yasmin,

Again, I can't really help, but it might be an idea to post this on the Student Moneysaving board, and also I think there is one about tax too. Thy can both be found via the drop down list of boards in the top right of the page.
