My DSR was at 4.9 for everything, and then one buyer left feedback, and my postage charges dropped to 4.8
I charged £2, and sent the item in a jiffy bag - the postage cost £1.94
What is the point of the new feedback system if the buyers are too stupid to rate properly

That's the problem with the DSR ratings being anonymous - buyers can do as they please. I think there are some malicious people who just revel in giving low scores - particularly now that they can do whatever they like and have no negative feedback to worry about.0

I've only got 4.5 for my P&P DSR....then again I've only sold two things since they came into being."Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."

I always check the postage value and add a bit depending on the amount and type of packaging before I do my feedback. This morning I had a large brown envelope with a light item and Large letter 1st class stamp, I checked to see what i had been charged and I had paid 80p so although the packaging looked basic its what I paid for so no problem.
Some people expect all the trimmings, bubble wrap, tissue paper etc but only want to pay the cost of a stamp.

We're only 4.6 for p&p charges and we send most things for £6 DHL, all are excellent packed and dispatched in 24hr!
so I wouldn't worry. as has been said on here feedback has pretty much become null and void anyway.0 -
I feel the star ratings are a bit useless. I don't take any notice of them when buying on ebay unless someone's stars are really low.
My dispatch time is only 4.5. In my listings I always put that I can only get to the PO on a Saturday. All items are then posted 1st class. Yet people obviously mark me down on dispatch time. My feeling is though that if I fulfil what I say I will do - post 1st class on Saturdays - then I am dispatching as promised.
I very rarely mark down when buying for postage. If I feel someone's postage is too high I just don't bid/buy.
Anyway I suppose these are just the joys of ebay!!!

I think the problem is how eBay explain the DSR's, its a bit misleading to be honest. If you are new to eBay rating something at a 3 because you received satisfactory service etc is an easy mistake to make.
However as stated above, & I know this from experience there are a lot of buyers who mark down the DSR ratings just for the hell of it, and I am sure it will get worse because of seller feedback.
It would be nice to have buyer DSR ratings for slow payment etc, that would be interesting!0 -
I agree - DSR ratings for buyers would be a good idea. If we can't leave feedback for buyers star ratings would be good. At least then we could see if someone was a slow payer etc!!

I thought DSRs only showed up once you had 10 transactions rated with them? Am I confused? My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -

I think low stars though for posting once a week might be considered the correct use of the stars. Yes you have posted exactly as you say in your listings, but if I am asked as a buyer about the despatch times I would think once a week is poor especially if I have waited a week for my goods, so would mark it down accordingly.
Likewise, I bought a T shirt recently against my btter judgement (my DS wanted it desperately) and ended up paying £6 p and p when it actually came to £1.63. I agreed to the p and p before paying and I left a positive as I got exactly what i expected, but I did hit the stars for p and p costs as it was excessive.I ocul dnot posisbly leave 5* for someone loading p and p to that extent as I was not completely satisfied.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
