First post so hope it is in correct thread.
We have just completed a remortgage with woolwich and i want to start making overpayments, is it posssible to view a mortgage statement online to see what difference the overpayments are making and if so how? I have received all the bumf to go online and registered but cant see a link anywhere.
Many thanks in advance

Not sure for a regular Barclays mortgage but if you have the offset/open plan facility then you see the on-line accounts with the ballances. You get a mortgage statement every month which outlines the savings on the loan.0

Not an answer I'm afraid but I'm just applying for a discounted variable rate with them and they seem to be taking ages to confirm it, how long did the process take for you? I'll also be interested if you find out about the overpayments because that is my plan too.First post so hope it is in correct thread.

We have a mortgage with Barclays / Woolwich, when I last spoke to an advisor he told me that no I couldn't view my details online and that they were working hard to sort it out.
Also when I went to overpay at a local branch they couldn't access my woolwich details as it was on a different computer system. So I have to send a cheque via snail mail, leave it about ten days and call to find my latest balance, obviously technology has not caught up with the Woolwich yet !!!!!!!!!!!

Barclays/woolwich overpayment issues.
A trick that should work with the Barclays/Woolwich mortgages is to ask for some of the mortgage to be on the mortgage reserve account(they all have one) which is now a Barlcays current account so you can use it to opperate a mini offset facility with normal banking.
Not checked if it has all the facilities of a current account like SO and DD or debit cards, you do get a cheque book.
Forgot to mention previously allthough I can see my Mortgage ballance it is not live but the ballance at the end of the previous day(which is good enough for me)0 -

I have the same issue. We took out our Openplan mortgage with the Woolwich 5 years ago and got monthly statements. When everything transfered to Barclays the statements stopped. I called today and was told that I could not see my mortgage account online even though I can see the current account (that has the reserve facility) when I log into my normal Barclays account.
Making overpayments is easy though. I was given an account number so at least I can do overpayments online. I have to phone to find out the current balance though0 -

I have this mortgage a/c also. However, I don't really understand what you mean by this? Are you talking about the Barclays website?

i just thought that once logged on to barclays website i might be able to see outstanding balance of mortgage and how much it was affected by an overpayment, just as a bit of a carrot really to ensure we keep up with regular overpayments.0 -
It would be nice to have the extra incentive wouldn't it? Maybe if we all call them once a week they'll get it sorted. It really can't be that difficult0

We had a Woolwich offset mortgage and although they send you a statement every month telling you how much interest you've saved, they never tell you by how much you have reduced the term of the mortgage.
We sold our house last summer and even at the end they couldn't tell us how much we'd reduced the term by. Having said that, we are just about to buy again (having been renting for 9 months) and we are still going to have the same mortgage. But I wish they would sort out their systems so that they give more meaningful information. You'd think a company of Barclay's size could manage that!0
