Where can I but a Childrens Digital Camera?

Hi
Wondering if anyone can help?
I am looking for a childrens digital camera between £10-£20 for my nephews birthday.
We've all recently bought new digital cameras and my SIL's son who is 8 wants to explore ours as his parents don't let him (quite rightly) touch theirs!
Only thing is, he's quite stubborn and has had drummed into him this brand that brand so he won't value/even accept a cheap one!
Anyone any ideas?
Cheapest I found so far is ToysRUs - £19.99 for a "Cars" one
Thanks in advance!

I've heard mixed things about the kids digital cameras. They might be sturdily build but very much at the expense of picture quality.
If he has a genuine interest in learning how to use the camera then perhaps a second hand "proper" camera might be a better option (older models are much larger and sturdier than newer ones). On the other hand if he can't be trusted to look after it then by all means go for the Cars one.
My 4 yo niece has an old ipod mini - much better than the "kids" mp3 players, she learned how to use it no probs, and it has withstood several drops.Self employed and loving it

I have to agree with Lady Stardust and to be fair I think a Cars one is much too young for an 8 year old. I got my 7 year old son a 5mp camera for £35 and he has no problems with it. I know that Asda have some for £29. What about giving him your old one as you've just got new ones.
I'm not suggesting that you pay this sort of money but why not give him some money and suggest that it's towards a digital camera. You could even offer to take him out looking for one with the rest of his birthday money (I'm sure his parents would give him some money if he asked), or buy him a camera care kit. Woolies do one for under a tenner.

Thanks for the suggestions guys....
I don't mean to be awkward, but the thing is, this was our first digital cameras - don't ask!
Anyway, I bought mine as it was a bargain plus I get discount at Boots, so it worked out a real bargain!
SIL then said that she didn't need to buy one as they could all use mine - uuh no!
So she then went off and bought one herself.....
She won't let nephew even touch hers but has said to him as for other things - use your aunties or your auntie will show you.
That's not really fair on me.
But hey, enough of that.......
I thought I could buy him a kiddies one and he'd be content with that for a bit, and then we'll maybe upgrade ours in a few years and pass that to him?
OK - so the Cars one is out, will have to think again. Woollies have a Superman one for same price
Just wondered if anyone had any experience of buying one thats all.
Secondhand one - whilst that would've worked for me when I was 8, nephew is a bit.......picky? snobby?
His mum has made him such a brand junkie.....for example my camera is an Olympus and the one they bought a Canon - and she's had him chanting (literally) Olympus is rubbish, Canon is best!
He does that with everything!
Anyway - sorry rant over!0 -
Really pity you, doesn't sound like she leads by example but does sound as though you are really nice and have the childs interests at heart.
You could do nothing, of course or you could get him a cheap camera and say that he could practice with the one you have given him while he saves up for which ever brand he thinks is best. He gets a nice present and has something to work towards. A lesson all children should learn.
I might be inclined to put a rather cutting comment ie instead of which brand he thinks best I'd put "which brand your mother thinks best!"
Did find this 5MP camera today for £24.97 http://direct.tesco.com/product/default.aspx?R=203-0163

I definitely agree with other posters about buying him a cheap 'real' camera. I bought my 5 yo a VTech kids digital camera for christmas as he was always taking our camera and was quite interested in taking photos. The VTech cost £60 and he has hardly looked at it! Still prefers our 'proper' one and I am thinking about getting him one for his birthday - although he wouldn't care about make/model or anything!;)0
