Try your local recycling centre if you have one - I was in ours yesterday and you wouldn't believe what people throw away and how little the centre charges for it:) Also maybe Gumtree?0

Also try freecycle you might have some luck there!nothing to see here, move along...0

Best advice for cooking while camping is to keep it really easy. Take an old pot with you and cook pasta, noodles or rice. It's easier and quicker than barbecue food.
We have a camping box in the back of the car, and it's basically just a little Curver box filled with stuff that was either free or cheap.
It's got t-bags (free from Fair Trade), sachets of sugar and condiments (from fast food places & restuarants, etc), plastic cutlery (also from fast food places), a big bag of Asda Smart Price pasta, some packets of 7p noodles, Barbie (!) napkins & plates (left over from childrens party), some old mugs that I was going to throw out, some empty Highland Spring bottles (which we fill from our tap before we leave - we are lucky enough to have lovely tap water here), a couple of newspapers (our local free paper) & a box of firelighters, a roll of cooking foil - take some potatoes and cook them in your campfire (if you catch any fish while you're away you can wrap them in the foil and cook them on the fire as well), a big box of cook's matches, bin bags (remember to follow the country code!).
There's other stuff that I can't remember offhand, but you get the jist of it.
The only things that we have actually paid out any real money for are decent sleeping bags (essential), Swiss Army Knives, a little Calor Gas stove (which we only really use to make tea/coffee during the day before the fire's lit), and a little set of pots & pans which the handles fold up and fit inside each other for space), Avon SSS for the midges.
Don't forget a torch and lots of spare batteries - you WILL need it at some point and will kick yourself if you don't take it!
Be prepared for any weather as well - it may be a great forecast, but remember how quickly the weather can change in the UK. A waterproof jacket, warm jumper, old trackies and spare socks are invaluable.
Off to have dinner, but if I remember anything else I'll edit this post later.0 -

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

I took my stove top steamer with me last year - means I only need one ring so less gas used, and like others save up those little sachets of salt sugar etc from fast food places,I take a duvet from home as warmer than a sleeping bag and a couple of hot water bottles just in case.I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0

i'd get a roll matt too. keeps you warmer.
