Just moved house - just found out I'm being made redundant

Hi all,

Firstly, apologies if this is the wrong forum to post in!

As you may guess, I moved house 10 days ago, and found out today that the company I work for are entering a 90 day consultation period with a view to the site closing - redundancies all round.

My question is about the payment protection I have. And in a nutshell, in this instance, when I get booted out the door for the last time - will I be able to claim? The policy mentions about not knowing about redundancy prior to taking the plan (which I didn't), and not being about to claim for 30 days before reverting to day one. However, with taking the plan and redundancy being so close, am I in potential trouble not being able to claim?

Thanks!!
People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks. Years later, a doctor will tell me that I have an I.Q. of 48 and am what some people call mentally !!!!!!.

When you submit your claim they will look to find out from your employer when you were notified. If the date corresponds with what you are saying, I can not see where there would be an issue.

It may look suspect and you may find another job before the redundancy happens. I would put the claim in and be honest if you end up needing to submit the claim.

Assurant is now the name of the one that MSE recommends, so it probably is that.
