in Cutting tax
We have to pay CGT on mother in laws house after she died.....long story.
Now we have to actually put in the forms to go and declare it, what things can we declare as costs to bring the tax down?
Can we ask for the funeral to be used as costs?

No, you can't claim funeral costs from CGT, however, those costs do come out of the estate.
I think you need to give more details for us to help with costs to be offset from the house valuation for CGT purposes.0 -
I can't see why you are paying CGT at all (the long story may help....) - there is generally no CGT on death, only IHT.
In which case funeral expenses are a charge against the estate and will reduce the IHT calculation.0
