Fathers day window dressing!

Hi i hope this is in the right place, i have just been promoted to senior sales in an off licence (which sells papers, mags and grocery) and my manageress has decided to mark the occasion by having me dressing the window for fathers day!! ( i have never dressed a window before)does anyone know what kind of knick knacks i can buy to put in the window? and where from? cheap is ideal because it's coming out of my money, i cant put any spirits in the display because of shop lifters, i have a vague idea of what i want to do but i'll keep that to myself because i dont want to make it look like ive come on here asking for help so you all do it for me if you know what i mean ... im going to do some small hampers too! thanks

If the window dressing is coming out of your own pocket I would tell them to stick their window up their A** and go jump.

Seriously; if they don't provide you with any financing for doing this then yuor a mug to pay for it out of your own pocket.

^ Tend to agree - cannot understand why this is down to you to pay for ...

But hey ... let's see some suggestions that help you, huh?

Off the top of my head, ok ... (and this depends on the size and shape of the window) - - get three posters, all very different.

Like David Beckham -V- someone like Ricky Tomlinson. Different ages, different body shapes etc.

Then a script on the window itself ...
    ... Father's Day ...

... Fathers come in all shapes and sizes ...

... We cater for them all ...

Maybe way off, but hope it maybe sparks something from other MSE members.

thanks for your help, i asked about the dressing and she said i could spend £5 no more and i would get that back from the shop any more and it would be out of my own pocket.
i managed a few cups and 3 pair of socks!

i had a good idea for the display(the main attraction has to be stella artois) but she took over and did it herself!
i also had to make hampers using small boxes from wine and confectionary but i wasn't allowed to use spirits, cigs or chocolate as they would probably be shop lifted resulting in me (being sarcastic) wrapping up a box stuffed with tissue paper!
she gave in and we have done a small display near the counter i'll get some pics as soon as!
