Whats the best window cleaner?

Can anyone reccomend the best thing to clean windows with? I need something that cuts through grease and doesn't smear.

Someone told me vinegar and water will do the job, has anybody tried it?

cheers

  • White vinegar & buff it off with a microfibre cloth (look in your local pound shop!).

Hi, I use vinegar and water and wipe off with newspaper. I put the vinegar and water into a spray bottle so its always at hand. I used to use washing up liquid with water and again wipe off with newspaper. Was as good as vinegar, I'm just trying to cut down on cost.

Newspaper is excellent to use for cleaning your windows. Get's rid of smears, and doesn't leave any black marks. Just scrunch a sheet up and use this to wipe off your cleaner.

I bought a handy steam cleaner the other week from Aldi for £14.99. Tried it the other day on windows and it works wonders - just literally sprayed it and wiped off with a towel - no streaks or smears - I used it to clean the hob, tiles, sinks, bathrooms, mirrors, carpet marks in sons bedroom. Definitely well worth its money!
  • what is the ratio of vinger to water?

  • Newspaper actually makes your windows and mirrors really shine when combined with white vinegar. Well recommended window cleaning technique!

Yes, I was going to suggest that with a micro-fibre cloth too. I have a conservatory, and clean windows on a large scale, so find mixing vinegar and water together in a bowl, soaking the cloth and wiping the window, then dry off with a dry microfibre cloth the quickest way to do them all.
