Loans For Foreigners.. advice needed
Hi everyone
Thanks for a great website!!!
We have been living in the UK for the past 8 months and has found it very difficult to get a loan approved since we have no credit history and can't provide addresses for the past 3 years. We were wondering if you know of any low apr loans we can apply for that will consider us. We have debt to consolidate and with constant overseas transfers we aren't making any significant progress with our loan repayments. We intend on staying and working in the UK for the next 6 years.
Any response will be appreciated. Thanks

Can you not apply to your bank at home?

Have you tried to ask your employer(s) whether they would help you with a recommendation/reference?
Have you got a UK current account? There are some who offer 0% overdraft for up to 12 months. These overdrafts aren't usually huge, though I seem to remember Barclyas just launched £5k at 0% for 10 months. Assuming you will be accepted for a current account(s), this could help a little.
Also, do you have a permanent UK residence permit? That can help a lot.0
