How long does D of E take to set up?

A quick question regarding how long a D of E takes to set up. Does anyone have any experience of this.

    Hiya it really depends on the pay frequency of the person whose money is being deducted and the accounting habits of the employer who is implementing it.

    worst case scenerio though - payments due on 1st each month (1st June for the next collection / nrp payday)
    DEO issued today (21st May)
    This wont be in place for the NRP's payday as the payroll will be completed about 2 weeks earlier (varies depending on employer)

    So 1st payment will now be 1st July

    The employer them has until the 19th of the month following deduction (19th August in this case) to get the money to the agency.
    The money then clears and pays out in the usual way.

    Like I said this is the worst case scenerio and in many cases it is much quicker but if you plan for the worst it can only get better.

    I usually tell clients to expect it to take between 6 and 8 weeks.
