How do I sue Barclays Bank?

For 5 weeks Barclays having been pplaying games. I have requested for my passcode for online banking but I still haven't received it. I requested it 5 times but still nothing in the post. Nothing has arrived., Repeated promises but nothing. They do have the correct address but still nothing.

How do I sue them?

I can't see why you want to sue them?

Make a formal complaint first which should sort out a simple thing like that :)

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Suing them might be a SLIGHT over reaction to this situation! Like Novagirl said, a formal complaint in writing might be a cheaper and more appropriate option...If you have already complained, I can't imagine there has been enough time to respond to the complaint so maybe wait for a response?

Out of interest, what would you be suing them for?

I use online banking regularly. I havent made a formal complaint as yet but they keep making repeated promises they have sent my passcode for online banking. 5 weeks is a long time. They say they have problems at their depot, if this is a case, they should stop this service.

But you need to sue for an amount of money, or for a remedy such as specific performance. What do you want from Barclays?

I'm not sure you can sue them for aything. You haven't paid for this service, they have no duty of care or any duty towards you for this....it is an optional service they provide (or in your case, don't provide!) to enable you to use your bank account more efficiently. You can still use your account, just not in the way you WANT to (as opposed to this being the only way your bank account is usable). There has been no breach of contract (check the small print, i'd be willing to bet there is a disclaimer about being able to withdraw or suspend the service at any time)

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I know sometimes you just want to nail the B@stards but in this case, I don't think you are going to get any joy. Persevere or tell them where to insert your account. Go to one of the internet banks who are "experts" in the whole internet access thing.

    Good luck
