Cant pay tax debt... HELP!!

Hi
I ran my own LTD business for one year and made £15,000. I was ill advised as to the difference between LTD and Sole Trader.
My company is now dormant and in the process of being struck off but I'm back working for an employer and dont think I'll be able to pay my tax bill in June.
Its tearing me to pieces, cant sleep, feel ill whenever I think about it.
I rent my home and my partner knows nothing of the debt. She is the secretary to the LTD business but has never had anything to do with it.
Please help!!!

Hi R.B.
Know the feeling, you are not alone so don't think for one minute your the first, you won't be the last either.
I take it you have phoned the Tax Office?. I have just started back to work after being self employed too, and they have delayed my June payment until Jan 2009. They do generally give good advice, so give them a call.
As far as your partner is concered, please pick up the courage to speak about it, I know it's hard, been there, done it and got the T-shirt, but it'll all come out one day. Can you see yourself flying to the front door every time the post comes or being too afraid to answer the phone? Please, please try and talk about it.
I wish you lots of luck.Opinions are like bottom holes, we all have one

If you ring the tax office and explain it to them they may be able to sort out a payment plan. Try and get your returns in as soon as possible as this may mean the revenue are more likely to give you some leeway in paying the tax due.
Good luck
