While of course most vitamins and minerals are best obtained and utilized from food sources because of the way much of our veg/meat is grown/raised it does not contain the same quantity/quality of vitamins/minerals as previously.

If you visit the fields of Lincolnshire you will see the same crop growing on the same field almost continuously and such intensive monoculture must deplete the soil of some essential elements and there isn't the livestock available to provide manure to replenish the soil naturally so synthetic fertilisers are used. today's Foods Lack Yesterday's Nutrition

The supplements I use mainly are set down here In the same way I am not keen on the use of artificial fertilisers I'm not keen on Synthetic vitamins. The difference between the natural and synthetic form of Vitamin D (that doctors continue to prescribe despite the fact it is more expensive and less effective) is an example.

But most often when I read research showing that vitamin use is not effective the researchers haven't bothered to check the form of Vitamin that is being used.

Only when the site moderators realise that consumers need accurate science based information to enable them to make value for money effective buying decisions will the situation improve. At the moment any information explaining the value of a particular vitamin nutrient gets deleted as contravening the sites medical advice rule.

Information enables people to make their own informed decisions.

But our health professionals don't like people actually understanding why and how those professionals are failing to prevent disease.
