Supermarket shopping trolley

Strange request I know, but I am trying to get hold of a supermarket shopping trolley for a project I am working on.

I have found one on Ebay for a starting bid of £28+VAT but the shipping would be £47.20 +VAT, as it would have to go on a pallet? I can collect, but they are quite a distance away in Preston, so not an option.

Any ideas????

Thanks

Does it have to be in 'perfect' condition? If not, try asking your local supermarkets - they might have some tucked away at the back with broken wheels or similar that they would be prepared to let you have.

Thanks for that....no. it can be in any condition. I have just phoned our local Tesco and they said they send all theirs back, so don't have any???

Oh well, maybe I just need to get on to all the supermarkets in our area. I am sure they must be able to find one out the back with wonky wheels - or even NO wheels!!!

    Thanks

I was going to say go to your local supermarket and follow a trail of about 100 - 200 yards if it is anything like where we live, you are bound to find at least one!! They get dumped all over the place where I live because people know how to get the money out and are too bone idle to take them back. Tesco and Asda in Wrexham have a good idea theirs have special things on them that means you can't take them past a certain point. We thought they were joking when we saw a sign that said 'do not take beyond red line' and wondered how many people had done it for a laugh, especially kids (sorry no offence intended, but they woud have to give it a go) but you can't anyway, they have special magnet things on wheels.
