We are looking to have a family get together in Edinburgh on a Sunday in June, I have a very boisterous nephew and was wondering if there are any resturants in this area with a kids play area

Might not be exactly what you are looking for but the botanic gardens are fantastic, they have blackboards, small tables and chairs, toys and fabulous food - quite cheap and great views hth0

can you give us a bit more info
what kind of get together is it / what kind of food do you want to eat that kind of thingThe mind is like a parachute. It doesn’t work unless it’s open.:o
A winner listens, a loser just waits until it is their turn to talk:)0 -
Thanks, the Botanic Gardens sounds good, will check it out.
There isn't an occasion as such, just family coming over from Jersey on holiday for a week and Edinburgh is central for the rest of the family to get to, to meet up.
Foodwise, nothing too fancy, ordinary pub/restaurant food. :beer:0 -
Newhaven Quay Brewers Fayre & Fun Factory..not the best food in the world, but has a bit for the kids..always an option if it's raining.0

A really cool pub with a kids area (during the daytime hours only 11-5) is Joseph Pearce's near the top of Leith Walk - 53 Elm Row. It was recently purchased and super cool-ified by the folks who run Sofi's, Boda and Victoria. Nice food, nice beer selection and really nice atmosphere.

Ratho Park on the A71 has a good outdoor play area. Its one of the ex Brewer's Fayre that recently changed to a carvery for only £3.50.0
