BR on the cards.

Hi guys.....

I have seen many people posting diarys etc on here so i thought i would post mine, it may have relevence to some people and may even help through this sticky period.

I was serperated nearly 3 years ago and was left with huge debts, all cards and loans.
I managed to keep my head above water untill now, the last chance i had of survival was a 125% mortgage which was pulled out of the market place a week after i had applied.

I contacted a debt managment company who compiled a propasal for an IVA, i recieved this friday and going through it with my GF i realised that there was no way we could survive on what they proposed for the 5 years.

I know that the iva wasnt going to be easy but it just wasnt viable.
I then on sat 17th may went on the cccs web site and completed the remedy process, it came up with BR.
Scary, im going to ring them tom and hope they can steer me in the right direction.
I own a house that is mortgaged with around £10000 equity in it.
I also own a car on HP (that will go back).

I have never been so worried in all my life, i cant sleep and feel terrible, i also suffered a close bearevment not long back so im having a bit of a bad time of it at the moment.

As strange as it sounds i feel a little better already just posting this, i will let you know how i get on tom after the call to cccs.

I would just like to say how great the site is, you deserve some credit Martin.:T :money: :T if anyone has any advice that would be great, ps ex the spelling.

Just wanted to say welcome to the boards! And well done for looking at all of your options.

If you post up your SOA I'm sure many people on here will be able to help you see if there's anything that you can reduce etc.. - which may help when you're speaking with CCCS.

I also did the debt remedy online and just going through my budget again this afternoon I know I've over-estimated a few things and I've also managed to get lots of things cheaper as a result of support on here.

    Good luck..

If you do decide to go bankrupt - there is a bankruptcy board as part of this forum.....just at the top of the page. Most people there have been through or are going through exactly the same routines and emotions that you have right now, so they are well placed to help you with practicalities as well as support.

If you have a look at the top of this board there is a thread for new posters - it will give you lots of information on the sorts of things that are helpful - statements of affairs, challenges we take part in etc etc!

Welcome aboard, the support is fantastic and really does make the difference to what is undoubtedly a very stressful time.

Just got off the phone to the cccs, really was not looking forward to the call.
How wrong was i to be worried, the operator was brilliant, i have my appointment booked for the 02/06.
I feel better already, i have my ref number for the interim in case my creditors contact me. The current company i was dealing with were obvisouly only out to make money out of a desperate situation.
    Watch this space!!!
    Thanks Hypno and itsnowtime.
