garlic smells!

I'm wondering if there's a way to get rid of garlic smells (as in after you've eaten it) My OH had a nice healthy-looking salad last night which had a couple of cloves of raw garlic in it, and the garlicky smell is.. well.. lingering a bit!:o
It's on his breath and I can even smell it in the rooms he's been in :eek:
Or is it just a case of waiting a while till it goes..?

i've heard if you chew parsley it neutralises the smell

but in the meantime, don't kiss him!! thats my advice :rotfl:0 -
Also, chew cardamum seeds, then spit out, they taste awful:p0
