Diet Coke or Coca Cola Zero?

What's the difference between the two?
I've just bought Coca Cola Zero in Sainsburys because it was on special offer, and wondered if the taste is different from Diet Coke.
Thanks

Its primarily a difference for marketing. Diet Coke is marketed at females, and has a different formula to Coca Cola, while Coke Zero is marketed as a man's drink, to encourage males into sugar free cola drinks, and is more similarly formulated on the original coca cola product, so you can still have the 'full taste' of coca cola without the sugar. Its unlikely you'll taste much of a difference though. It has similar marketing principles to the difference between health conscious diet pepsi drinkers, and cool, hip pepsi max drinkers, coca cola wanted in on the market share pepsi max aims for.0

According to the coca cola website, both Diet Coke & Coke Zero are Sugar free.
Coke Zero is so called because it is claimed to be zero calories (not sure how many calories, if any, Diet Coke is)
The only significant chemical difference between the 2 products I can see is that Coke Zero has half the amount of aspartame (an artificial sweetener that received bad press a couple of years ago over cancer scares) and increased amounts of an alternative artificial sweetener, acesulfame potassium (ace-k).
Again, according to Coca-cola, Coke Zero is supposed to taste more like the original Coca-Cola than the less sweet Diet Coke does."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Personally, the main difference I taste is that coke zero tastes like theres less artificial sweetener in it (and I loathe the taste of sweetener) and it tastes more like proper coke. My preference goes; Caffeine free diet coke (because when you drink as much as I do not having the caffeine is one less bad/addictive thing going into your body), then coke zero, then at a push diet coke.
Its all down to personal taste though. I suggest you buy a can of each and taste them both (not together though) and make a choice from that.:A:A:A:A:A:A0 -
I think coke zero was a marketing ploy to get more men to drink the product. They do taste different and I prefer diet coke. I was a 6 cans a day addict but now only drink water as the coke was doing my teeth no good.0

The mrs buys coke zero as she can't tell the difference between that and normal coke.
The problem with that and diet coke are that they are full or artificial sweeteners.0 -
So can I get a Cherry, Caffeine-free, Coke Zero extra foam, extra shot and both chocolate and Cinnamon Sprinkles?
:rolleyes:0 -
diet coke has 1.3 calories per can (i have one in front of me now).0
