Sorry, I'm not answering your question, I'm just curious
.
I'm with Payplan, simply because when we hit the end of the rails last August two of our creditors indicated they would accept a DMP arranged with them (Egg & First Direct).
What makes you want to change to CCCS?

I am also with Payplan - by luck rather than judgement and I am so grateful for what they did at the beginning. However I have to say that their continued support is not ideal.
I haven't really needed them - but the odd time I have contacted them for advice, they have been not very helpful, I've found advice on here much better. And whilst I am thinking of stopping my DMP, it is to go to paying my creditors myself, I don't think moving would be any better for me.
Can I ask why you think a move would be beneficial ?[STRIKE]DFW Nerd number 729[/STRIKE]Debt Free & Proud0 -
I'm finding the support from PayPlan a bit hit and miss to be quiet honest.....quiet happy in most areas....but find them always wanting to push insurances ,cover my payments ....which i know i wouldn't be accepted for as i have a pre-existing medical condition.....when i ring them with a problem they never seem concerned...maybe its because they deal with these things everyday and what seems like a big problem to me isn't to them???????0

I'm on a DMP with CCCS at the moment. They have been great with me so far and have given me a lot of reassurance. I do find it difficult to contact my "case worker" though but I tend to speak to the CCCS helpline and I find they generally answer my questions and put my mind at rest. They were also very tolerant with me when I spent about 20 mins crying on the phone to them before I started my DMP! I rang them back and apologised and they said they were used to it!
I might be being made redundant at the end of the month but not all bad as I've been with my company for 15 years so will get enough money to pay off 80% of my debts if it happens. I mentioned this to CCCS and they immediately said that they would help me make full and final settlement offers to my creditors and help me through the process. I've been very happy with them.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Not helping the OP (hope you get things sorted so youre happier with them), but we will be doing a dmp with cccs asap (currently doing token payments with them) and have to say their advice and support has been fab so far. Im glad to hear experiences of people further down the line who are with them and are happy!MSE-ing since 20070

Take a look at my signatureClick here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.
All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional0 -
I`m with CCCS and not that thrilled with them upto now.
First of all they wouldn`t let me pay off one of my smaller creditors,I didn`t want to put it on a DMP but as they had said I should,I did what they said, for just another £5 a week I could have continued to pay the creditor the mim payment and avoided a default and all the harrasing phone calls.
I`ve since had a small bonus off work and wanted to get rid of this debt altogether but again CCCS didn`t want me to pay them off as it would be showing favouritism and wanted to distrubute the amount amongst my creditors which IMHO would be a waste of time as they get about £25 each.
Then last week they sent me a letter saying HFC wanted a larger payment off me(now HFC was the only creditor who sent me a letter saying they had accepted my DMP out of 7 creditors and stopped the interest)so I phoned them up and the advisor just said well we can only send them a letter again,I then mentioned that none of my creditors had stopped interest and that 3 of them said they hadn`t even heard off CCCS!
So after over £1300 of payments to CCCS my debt has risen by £1150!
Oh and I pay by standing order which goes out on the 1st and it took the last payment 8 days to show up on my payment schedule.
I`m sure some people get a great service off them me I`ve had it with them and going to do my own DMP."Life is short even in its longest days".0 -

My SO to Payplan is 1st of the month - creditors normally receive it the 10th at the earliest, but all of them have adjusted their due dates, so it's not a problem
But the original setting up of the DMP by Paypan was fantastic - all creditors agreed and stopped interest (it took some a couple of months as their policy was to see that I was genuinely serious about the DMP but after that they all stopped). It is just their on going support that is a bit lacking.
Deep In Debt mentioning a general helpline is interesting - something like that would be useful as I can never get hold of my case worker[STRIKE]DFW Nerd number 729[/STRIKE]Debt Free & Proud0
