Feeding vegetarians

We have got a couple of friends coming around next weekend. I wasn't going to cook a dinner but thought I would lay on some nibbles. The only thing I can think of at the moment is a bag of tortilla crisps and some dip. I need some ideas of anything else I could possible buy as that doesn't seem that exciting. My hubby doesn't do veg so I would need to buy items that veggies and non veggies would eat. Also to be MSE it couldn't be too expensive.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for all the tips, keep them coming.

Ifonlyitwaseasier, I don't think I'm going to have time to do any homemade things. I work full time during the week, we have a trade show all next weekend and I have to try and find time to do the housework before they come around. The items you mentioned do sound really nice though, especially the cheesy pastry twists. Do you have a recipe as when I do get some time to do some baking my hubby would probably like these.

  • i actually cheat with the twists :o , (ready rolled puff pastry), sliced into strips, brushed with melted butter, twisted a couple of times, sprinkled with grated cheese then into the oven til they look golden, so about 10-15 ins normally

i bet there is a recipe for proper Os style ones are here somewhere tho :D

A box of Ritz crackers and a tube of Primula cheese spread (the "original" i.e. unflavoured one is veggie). Swirl some cheese on top of each cracker, and if you can be bothered put half a seedless grape on top. Don't make these until just before serving as they might go a bit soggy otherwise.
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D
