Courses to Maximise Income

Hi I am another Newbie to this forum, and I have spent a good year looking at further education to maximise my earning potential, with the aim of becoming self employed.

I have worked as an Executive PA, with advanced IT and language skills, and all of my jobs have required basic accounting skills, but none of my employers ever offered further training and I have worked for 4 large Blue Chip Companies for Board Directors.

I joined my family business two years ago as an accounts assistant, and they will sell up and retire in a couple of years time, which will then mean I need to look for a new position.

I started looking at local colleges in Kent and came across the AAT Accounting Course, ok it takes three years to complete whilst attending 6 hours a week split over two evenings, but it will enable me to take on new clients once qualified and I will also be able to run my own Accountancy Consultancy, you can then go on to study for a further two years and become a Chartered or Management Accountant if you wish to do this. There are no entry requirements, but you must have a good standard of basic Maths and English.

I am also going to take a Marketing Course, and a further course on taxation, I will then be able to offer secretarial services and desk top publishing to my future clients.I also have a friend who works full time in an office, and then does reflexology in the evenings - again alternative therapies can also be a great way to boost your income once qualified in your chosen area.
