Hi Everyone,
Loving the OS lifestyle!
We were given a few huge icecream tubs full of silvans last summer, bunged them in the freezer as we were busy dealing with our own gluts. Any ideas or recipies anyone? OH says no to jam as we've cupboards full of the stuff and I want my freezer back before goosgog season kicks in.
Muchos gracias!

OH says it is a blackberry, loganberry, raspberry cross. Never seen them anywhere but his Grandmas garden in North Wales.
You can see why I'm stumped! Thanks in advance.:staradmin0 -
Nothing exciting to offer, but couldn't you use them instead of blackberries/raspberries in your fave recipe? Add them to crumbles with apples? (I do this with rasps).

Could you make some type of alcoholic beverage with them? Fruit liquor that sort of thing. Add to muffins? Make a rum topf?

Silvan's are from the blackberry family but are larger than others and are a purpley black colour. I always make jams and pies with the wild blackberries I pick over the summer so sorry I'm no help at all:o I think using them to make homemade wine could be your best bet.Rebel No 220

Sorbet/icecream could be yummy and it's the right time of year."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." My hero, Mr Steer.0
