Virgin Rail or National Rail promotion codes

Hi
Im booking a 80th Birthday surprise for my dad - to go to visit a National Trust property (A La Ronde) at the end of May. One 25yr old, one 41yr old (me) and two OAPs. Been confused as anything trying to book the blinking trip via Rail and the cheapest I can get is £160.
Does anyone know a cheaper alternative or have any promotional codes going spare?

surely they are entitled to senior railcards which gives a significant discount, if you want discounts for national trust properties go to walkers brit trips and get day passes to property, you will need a certain amount of codes for this which generally seem to appear on brit trips thread unless you want to eat the crisps and collect that way, I'm sure someone will help you here

Did you try to book this on www.thetrainline.com ??

They check all the train op's and if you find it too dear try seeing if the single fares would work out cheaper.
