Providian / Monument / Barclaycard PPI
Options
Hello all, I'm really hoping someone can help as I think I may have cocked up my PPI claim.
I originally had a card with Providian from Nov 2002 & accepted PPI as I was told that should I die then my 2 children would be liable to pay any outstanding balance. The good people on the DFW site have already informed me that this is a cunning sales ploy whereby the sales person deliberately leaves out the part about any monies owed actually comes out of my estate, shoul I have one. I didnt & had I known the truth I wouldnt have bothered with PPI which is the basis of my claim.
In Sep 2003 my card became a Monument card & I continued to pay PPI as before.
In July 2007 the card then became a Barclaycard & I continued to pay the PPI until March of this year when I became aware of the real circumstances & cancelled it.
All these cards are owned by Barclays, so I sent my letter reclaiming all the PPI I've ever paid (£980 ) to Barclaycard. Today I've received a very sniffy letter from them saying they added PPI to my account as from June last year & made the circumstances quite clear & if I wasn't happy then I should have cancelled within the 30 day cooling off period so as far as they're concerned they're not refunding a penny.
Have I completely messed up any chances of reclaiming now ? Do I have to claim from each separate card for the amount paid during that time ?
Each time the account was changed they sent a letter saying I didnt need to do anything as the account would continue to run as before, and until June of last year I was paying the minimum on Direct Debit - I know, I know
, am a wiser creature now.
Guys, I'm losing the will to fight so please could you advise, I'd really appreciate it,
thanks,
lula
