Plug extension - remote controlled gadget

My friend has electricity supplied by British Gas (I think) and he says they have just sent him out a free 6-way plug extension cord with an infra red port on it, designed to go by your telly, and you can programme the remote to turn the whole lot off - so your DVD players, TV, freeview box & stereo aren't all on standby and you don't have to unplug them all.
Any ideas what this is called and where I can get one from? Apparently they were on Dragon's Den originally.

I don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right

Yes - pointless ! If you are that desperate to save a few Watts, use your finger to switch it off at the wall instead of wasting batteries, and creating waste, to do it remotely !0
