I think it might be worth asking in any shop that sells mattresses. A couple of years ago I bought a non-standard size mattress from (I think) Sleepmasters. As it had to be specially made I had to pay an extra 10% over the price of a standard mattress but I could choose any style I wanted.
Or you could try any where that fits out boats or caravans. (I tried this in the past but found they were a little more expensive than the big bed shops.) I hope you find what you want.0 -
thanks for the advice, ill try the shop route first.0

you could buy a standard one and cut 3 inches off...
I used to sell beds when i worked at the Co-op and here were a few companies that made custom sizes... They even made a 15' wide one once. They are mainly the pocket sprung mattresses though which are loads more money. Iy depends on how much you want to spend though I suppose. I'm sure you can get a cheaper one that is 6' long. Go yo a bed shop / bed specialist they'll let you know what they can get... I recomend the Co-op if you have one near you that sells beds :-)0 -

It is actually easier for the mattress manufacturer to cut one row of springs off an open coil sprung mattress (the coils are 3") before the steel rod edge is attached in order to reduce the mattress to 6' long, than it is to supply pocket sprung mattresses to a special size as the springs have to be specially ordered and do cost a lot.
I forgot to mention as many people in these forums already know, but I do sell beds, although I am on here to give advice and not advertise.0
