Hi, I changed mortgage lenders approx 7-8 yrs ago and was charged nearly £1000, unfortunately, all my old statements have been shredded so i dont have my old account number, i did ring the abbey last week and they said they would send me out a claim form but, i am still waiting!! am i still eligable to claim after so many yrs??

Yes, there is no time limit however given your timescale do not expect a high refund0

Most of the increases started around 2003 where fees of £50-£100 were normal before. The jump to £250-£400 was the catalyst for the FSA action. However, if you only paid £100, then Noz is correct in saying that you may not get much if anything.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
