Cheers for the help last night - I'm definately going to use goggles4u. Where is the best place to get a prescription? Is it ok to go get one from an optician and go elsewhere for me goggles? - or will I be pressurised into buying?
Cheers
ps -COSTCO charge £9.99 which seems pretty reasonable.

Yes you can get your test done at an opticians then go elsewhere for your specs. You might be pressured into buying the specs there and then but just tell them NO politely
I'm thinking about getting my new specs from www.glassesdirect.co.uk (Thanks to whoever originally posted this addy on MSE) They have software that you can try the glasses on a pic of your self before you buy them.

just get your prescription from the high street, look at a few frames then tell them u want a second opinion from a family member as to whether they suit you or not before u buy and that you will be back later;)
i can recommend goggles as great value, got some rimless glasses off them for around £14,they came in around a week from pakistan and the prescription was spot on.0 -
Hi,
Dolland and Aitchson (sp?) are doing free eye tests, there's a printable voucher on the voucher's board. I went and got a free test, and said I couldn't afford a new pair of specs until i got paid, then left. off to pick a pair from googles4u0 -
Yes I used the free D & A voucher to get a test the other week - valid til end of the month I think. there was no pressure - just say you haven't time to look or need to ask friends relatives what suits you first.
I am planning to order from Googles 4 u once I decide on a style.0 -
I can't seem to find the voucher on this site! Can anyone post a link?
