Abbey mortgage process

Hi there does anyone know how long it takes for the full mortgage applicaion to get checked and a decision made?

I have a DIP with Abbey & sent in my full application 2wks come tomorrow but as yet I have not heard anything, completion on the property I am looking at is 16/06 due to which I am getting worried that no word back, any ideas what I should do?

FTB as you could probably have worked out hence why I dont know the ins & out's.

There is a thread somewhere on this board regarding a backlog of applications with Abbey at present.

Probably one back two or three weeks back - you should be able to find.

I think it depends which mortgage centre your applicationm has been sent to. I use dorset and they are fast even with the back log. Valuation instructed imediately offer out within 15 days.

thanks guys, I will have a look back & I am unsure what mortgage centre it was through as broker dealt with application & as broker is busy I am awaiting an update from them 2.

There is an apparent 6 week delay on valuations at the moment.. Our buyers sorted their mortgage 4 weeks ago and paid for the valuation then. It still hasn't been done. They've been in touch with Abbey and apparently it will be next week.

thanks for that Rob, I aint even heard anything about doing the valuation thats why I'm starting to get concerned.

Get in touch with Abbey and ask them if they've done it yet. If they haven't, ask them why not. What I have heard is second hand info. I'd appreciate some confirmation if it is true.

thanks Rob, just left another message for my broker to see if they can give me any update & if I hav not heard anything then I will contact Abbey direct tomorrow, I will keep you posted.
