Betterware
appear initially to be somewhat better than other MLM companies I've been looking at recently.
They start by saying
There is no cash outlay; everything is free, including all catalogues and stationery, with full-time and part-time vacancies available.
Please note :
· It is illegal for a promoter or a participant in a trading scheme to persuade anyone to make a payment by promising benefits from getting others to join a scheme.
· Do not be misled by claims that high earnings are easily achieved.
In my area several people have started and given up almost immediately so I think there will be a problem in distributing the leaflets, getting them back again getting your orders delivered and paid for without too many trips to find people in. As everyone would have to drive some miles to do my village and most people are out a lot of the time I can quite see why people here find it uneconomic. If you lived in a built up area and needed to walk the dog twice a day anyway then it may possibly be a way to earn a few pounds without any significant outlay apart from your time and energy. But a lot will depend on what alternative sources for Betterware type products are readily available. We have a "Wilkinson's" in every local town here and visit Wilko's most weeks for one thing or another thus would not find the Betterware Catalogue particularly interesting.

I did betterware for a month and made about £36
And that was in november so the run up to christmas.
If you are happy to go out in all weathers to deliver then collect brochures then fine. If you don't mind going back 2/3 times to do this. And people being very rude like pushing the brochures through the letter box as you approach to collect it.
Don't mind going out in the dark to deliver goods unless you work weekends.
I spent hours putting brochures in bags and delivering. It is not an easy option. And really it takes months and months to build up a round.
I choose Betterware as there is no outlay unlike some of the others. Think it is a case of just getting lucky with a round.

I'm heartily fed up of the bloody bettaware woman who shoves her catalogue off tat through the door, and expects me to keep it safe until she returns a week later.
We tried telling her not to, but it made no difference, so we took to binning it. Next time she came round, she had a rant about didn't I know that she had to buy the catalogues, to which I responded that she should take better care of them instead of shoving them through people's doors.
On Friday, having not learned her lesson, she left another catalogue.
Mindful of her previous histrionics about wanting the catalogue back, I have not binned it on this occasion. :A
I have, instead, fed it through the shredder, twice, and placed all the shredded paper back into the zip-loc bag she left it in. :eek:0 -
lol. I did this when i was pregnant with DS. I hated it. I didnt get a round in my village, i got one 4 miles away. I don't drive so DH had to take me when he was off work. I hated. Distributing leaflets was fine but out of 100 i would only get roughly 30 back and i would count myself lucky if a third of these had an order attached. The breaking point came when one lady had placed a large order. I tried delivering it 7 times! It didnt matter what time it was, there was never anyone in! I only lasted about 1 1/2 month.A banker is someone who lends you an umbrella when the sun is shining, and who asks for it back when it start to rain.0

i done it for about 6 months and became a distributor. It's good in the fact that there's no outlay but to make a proper living out of it you will need to do it full time. There were weeks I made about £60-70 part time but you have good weeks and bad weeks. It takes a while to find out where the best areas are and make sure you put a catalogue through every month. I had one particular street with only 20 houses but had at least £150 worth of orders every time I went so that's £30 commission. Definately worth giving it a go.0

i'm an avon rep and my betterware man is always telling me how much better betterware is than avon (as long as you have a round where people want to buy the stuff) - he doesn't pay for catalogues etc. and he makes a lot more money than i do. on my patch there are more people who'd buy from betterware than would buy from avon, i pay about 30p each for my catalgues too.
part of the secret to doing well lies in working out who the customers are, and noth bothering those who ask you not to call or have signs up saying they don't want to buy from doorstep sellers. sealable plastic bags are good, my betterware man uses betterware bags, they don't seal so everyone puts their catalogues outside for him and they get covered in rain, spiders, etc. if the catalogue is in a bag everyone can leave it on the doorstep if they won't be in when you call, so the only time you have to make repeat trips to catch people at home is when you actually deliver the goods. i have printed slips asking people to leave the book out on a certain day, if it's not out i leave another slip asking for it to be left out the following day - if it's still not out i accept i won't get it back and even if they did order they would be the kind of people who never have the money etc. so i cross them off the list. on my printed slip i also have a tick box so they can tick it if they are not interested and never want to see another catalogue.52% tight0
