Pennies for fruit

Hi all, don't know if this quite fits the frugal theme but here goes..
I work in an office where there are no vending machines or shops where you can buy yourself a healthy snack for your coffee break. I decided to do something about it and so got a large basket, filled it with fruit and put it in the canteen. Beside it I put a jar for people to put money into. I pay on average 20p per piece of fruit and charge 30p which gives me roughly 2 pound per week. It's not loads, but it well finances my own fruit consumtion!! :j
This obviously means you have to trust your colleagues not to nick the money from the jar... But so far there have been no thefts and some people even put some extra money in because they are so thankful for the service!

What an excellent idea! Where I work we have to bring everything in for our breaks...the only thing that is provided is hot water. There is a canteen but at 70p for a coffee or tea, and 90p for a muffin it gets expensive. I don't think they would know a piece of fruit if it bit them on the nose. I might give your idea a go myself.0
